YESCoffeeRoasters PopUp Coffee Shop Sunday mornings
8am - 1:30pm. Locally roasted small batch fair trade coffees.

We recently received considerable coverage as a feature story in Our Wisconsin Magazine. The story is wonderful however the information is misleading. We were not privy to the story prior to receiving a printed copy. At the time of printing we did not offer Australian based lunch and supper and apologize for the inconvenience this has caused many who have driven hours to get here only to be disappointed. Please bear with us as we try to work with this situation. Our Australian products are baked-to-order. If you know you are coming, please call ahead and we will make every effort to have things on hand for you. We are working to implement a lunch menu that will include the use of our breads and local artisan cheeses.

We enjoy that time of year in Green County Wisconsin when rings slide on fingers, promises are made, and couples begin planning their lives together.

Our Story

My first recollection of baking on my own was when I was about 11 yrs old. My mum was a nurse at Townsville General Hospital, working in the men’s surgical unit. Many of her patients would awake during the night and she’d make them a cuppa and something to eat. I’d always enjoyed baking with my grandmother and the opportunity to bake at home while mum was working so now I had a captive audience – patients.  I made mini apple pies that mum would take to work. From there I began making other sweet treats. As a teenager with both parents working I would help more with the meals and learned to make delights such as cheesecake, pavlova, lamingtons, pies, and the usual scones, cupcakes, etc. I enjoyed the kitchen and Over the years I tried my hand at baking various things including breads. I love bread and enjoy the challenge of creating a tasty loaf that’s still good a couple days after baking. In addition to baking and cooking, I enjoy catering and have catered for friends, family, and businesses/groups for over 20 years, culminating in the opening of Boomerang Bakery on April 15, 2010 in Monroe, Wisconsin.

Boomerang Bakery is a community bakery in Green County Wisconsin with a mission. Monroe’s Boomerang offers quality handcrafted baked goods at affordable prices. We are happy to accept FoodShare cards, thus providing one more place for folks finding themselves in difficult economic times to purchase healthy bakery products. What products we are unable to repurpose into other baked goods, we donate to Green County organizations and food pantries.  All monetary tips are donated to Jeremiah’s Hope, an organization founded by my son, Andrew Kelly, to serve the orphans of Ukraine.

And Jesus answered him, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone.'” (Luke 4:4) Here at the Boomerang Bakery in Monroe, bread and cakes are our staple products but a love for God and His children sustains us. Our gift to the community is to be a community bakery where the hungry can come for bread and for kindness, a warm smile, encouragement, and to see God’s witness each and every day.

May He bless your walk and if you find yourself hungry, please stop in to the Boomerang, located south of Monroe’s historic square in Green County Wisconsin.
